What guests ask us most

Grouped the way reception hears them. If yours is not here, ring or write and a person answers.

Reception 8am to 10pm, every day

What time is check-in and check-out?: Rooms are ready from 3pm and we ask for them back by 11am. Leave your bags with us either side and use the bathhouse and the lounge for as long as you like.
What is your cancellation policy?: Cancel up to 14 days before arrival and we refund everything. Inside 14 days we charge the first night only, and if we can re-let the room we refund that too.
Is there a minimum stay?: Two nights on Fridays and Saturdays from April to October and over Christmas. Otherwise a single night is fine, including Sundays through Thursdays all year.
Can we bring children or a dog?: Children of any age are welcome; a child’s bed in the Cove Suite or the Garden Room is £35 with breakfast. One dog can stay in the Garden Room for £20 a night.

Is breakfast included?: You choose when you book: room only, or with breakfast at £18 a guest. It is served from 8 to 10 in the dining room, cooked to order, with bread from our kitchen.
Do we need to book dinner?: Yes, and please do it when you book your room. There are 24 covers and residents get first call. Dinner is four courses at £58, Wednesday to Sunday from 7pm.
Can you cook for allergies and diets?: Every day. The menu is written that afternoon, so tell us when you book and it is written around you. We cook vegetarian, vegan, coeliac and nut-free without fuss.

Is there parking?: Six free spaces behind the house, one kept by the door of the Garden Room. There is a public car park at the top of the lane if we are full, £6 a day.
Can we come by train?: Yes. Take the train to Bodmin Parkway and we book a taxi to meet you (35 minutes, about £55). Guests who arrive by train get 10% off their room.
Is the house step-free?: The Garden Room, the dining room and the bar are level from the car park. The other rooms are up stairs and there is no lift; we carry bags for everyone.
